About Paul Kay
I retired in 2000 after spending forty three years in the accountancy profession, the last twenty three years of which I was an accounts manager in a Hampshire based practice. I am now a writer of crime novels, I am currently (as of April 2025) editing book number three in a series featuring the Dorset Police Major Crime Investigation Team led by DCI Mike Bishop. Having spent a large part of my 'day job' auditing company accounts I will be the first to admit that I can sometimes get involved in a lot of research before I begin writing, including walking around the locations of my stories and reading academic papers on various subjects etc. My writing has been greatly encouraged by my wife Janis and daughter Nathalie who themselves are both keen readers.
